New Haven County resident Deshawn Maysonet, of Hamden, died on Saturday, March 16 in New Haven.
According to Officer Christian Bruckhart of the New Haven Police, officers responded to the area of Fairmont Avenue, between East Ferry Street and Lancraft Street, on the report of a person shot.
When they arrived, officers found a crime scene, but no victim. They then received word that the person injured, Maysonet, had been driven to the Yale New Haven Hospital hospital, arriving at the same time as the vehicle carrying the victim.
Maysonet was pronounced dead from his wounds at the hospital, Bruckhart said.
Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information valuable to investigators to call detectives at 203-946-6304 or through the department's anonymous tip-line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
